About Jacob F. B. Lowrey, III

An older man with a mustache, wearing a white shirt, beige pants, a dark vest, and brown shoes, sits on the edge of a large square planter. The planter contains a young tree surrounded by lush greenery and pine straw in an outdoor garden setting.

Jacob F. B. Lowrey, III (November 4, 2024) was a graduate of Auburn University (Business, 1969) as well as the University of Alabama (Master of Business Administration). Jacob was born in Montgomery, Alabama (January 2, 1947) and worked in Atlanta as a Certified Public Accountant before moving to Greenville, South Carolina, where he continued to work and volunteer with several nonprofit organizations. As an avocational historian, he published articles related to Alabama history, especially topics with connection to the town of Burnt Corn, Alabama, a result of his multi-generational connection to the area. In 2022, Jacob’s donation to Auburn University made possible the construction of the Lowrey Guest House, built in honor of his paternal and maternal grandparents.

About the Lowrey Guest House

The Lowrey Guest House at Pebble Hill was built in 2022 as a result of the generous support of Jacob F. B. Lowrey, III. Mr. Lowrey’s gift honors his fraternal grandparents Jacob Franklin Betts Lowrey and Eloise Lowrey of Burnt Corn, Alabama, who owned a prominent business and farm and were major contributors to the town’s development.  Furnishings were given in honor of Mr. Lowrey’s maternal grandparents, Millard Hosmer Pearson and Winona Horne Pearson, residents of Auburn, Alabama and active members of the Auburn community.
