School Engagement Opportunities

Students in the School of Communication and Journalism are encouraged to become active participants in student organizations related to our programs, such as Eagle Eye, WEGL, the student chapters of Professional Journalists and the Public Relations Society of America, as well as The Oaks Agency, the Plainsman, and Auburn’s New Media club. You can learn more about these organizations on each program’s webpages. You may also consult with your CLA advisor or your program’s director for engagement opportunities.

Campus Organizations and Programs

Students will find numerous opportunities to join organizations that reflect their interests, experiences, and culture. AUinvolve provides a searchable list of all student organizations, while the AU Cross-Cultural Center for Excellence can help students learn about campus culture and heritage celebrations, and multicultural community organizations.

Local, State and Regional Organizations

Students interested in local and regional organizations outside of the university may find the following of interest.

National and International Professional Organizations

Students are encouraged to explore and join national and international professional organizations to connect with others with similar communication interests, further their professional training and development, and build networking and leadership opportunities.
