Bachelor of Arts in History

You’ll graduate with excellent communication skills, the ability to manage complex projects and exceptional research skills, which will set you apart in today's competitive job market.
Degree Requirements
- 33 hours HIST courses (11 classes)
- Eight HIST courses (24 hrs) on any time period or geographic region
- One HIST course on Africa, Asia, Latin American, or the Middle East (3 hrs)
- HIST 3800 Historian’s Craft (3 hrs). You must complete Historian's Craft with a C or better before taking 5000-level courses and Senior Thesis.
- HIST 4950 Senior Thesis (3 hrs)
- 41 hours University Core courses
- 10 hours CLA Core course (including 8 hrs of foreign language)
- 18 hours Supporting Courses in CLA
- 18 hours Free Electives

History Minor
A history minor is a valuable addition to any major. With it comes advanced communication and research skills. A minor can easily be completed alongside major coursework without delaying graduation.
Minor Requirements
15 credit hours (5 classes)
- 2 classes 2000-level or higher
- 3 classes 3000-level or higher
