Transfer Students
If you intend to transfer to Auburn University as a music major, please follow these steps:
- Complete both an application to Auburn University and to the Department of Music through Acceptd.
- Schedule an audition. Contact the applied professor in your area with any questions.
- Complete an AUSOM application.
- You will be required to take a music theory and piano proficiency exam during the acceptance process.
Additional Information and Documents Requested by Area
The following documents are requested if you are transferring,into a degree in music. These documents should be uploaded to one of the MEDIA pages on your Acceptd application (Department of Music)
- An unofficial transcript
- One or more of the following as appropriate to you performance area
- a repertoire list of pieces or songs studied in applied lessons as well as those performed publicly on a recital, convocation or other public venues
- programs from public or private performances
- recital programs
- programs featuring yourself as a soloist with instrumental or vocal ensembles
- lead or supportive roles in opera or opera workshop performances
- experiences in competitions or auditions, including awards won
- An unofficial transcript
- One or more of the following as appropriate to your performance area:
- a repertoire list of pieces or songs studied in applied lessons as well as those performed publicly on a recital, show, or other public venue
- any media graphics featuring yourself as a soloist or performer with a band on live or streaming performances
- a list of lead or background vocalist roles in any live commercial music performances, studio recordings, or voiceover work
- a list of live commercial performances or studio recordings as an instrumental soloist or supporting member of a band
- links to any original works, cover songs, or other compositions on streaming platforms i.e. Spotify, YouTube etc.
- experiences in competitions or auditions, including awards won
