Jill Glidewell joined the Auburn Family in the fall of 2022 as a flight simulator instructor and lecturer after her retirement from Delta Air Lines. She served in the United States Air Force for eight years as a command pilot of a WC-130. She was one of the first four women in the Air Force to become a C-130 aircraft commander. She flew into numerous typhoons and hurricanes, search and rescue missions, and participated in various multi-service exercises in the Pacific. In her 32 years at Delta Air Lines, she flew the DC-9, B727, B737, B757, B767, B767-400, and B777. The last 20 years of her career she flew as an international pilot flying to various destinations in Europe, South America, Australia, Asia and Africa.
