About Me
Julie Bennett has been working as professional photographer and editor since receiving her bachelor's degree in journalism from Auburn in 2001. In the past 18 years, she has covered news, sports, politics and daily life for The Montgomery Advertiser, Alabama Media Group (AL.com) and the Alexandria Daily Town Talk (Alexandria, La.) A former Plainsman photo editor, Bennett has won numerous industry awards, her most recent being the Alabama Press Association Better Newspaper Contest Best Sports Photo, Division A for both 2017 and 2018. She currently teaches photojournalism in the School of Communications and Journalism.
