About Me

Maiben Beard has been with the Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts & Humanities since 2008, where she develops, implements, and manages statewide arts and humanities outreach programs and initiatives. She also curates and interprets the historic 1847 Scott-Yarbrough House, also known as Pebble Hill. Beard holds a BA in Art History with a minor in Anthropology from Emory University. She currently serves as membership secretary for the Alabama Historical Association, chair of the City of Auburn Historic Preservation Commission, vice-chair of the Alabama National Register Review Board, and vice president of the Alabama Folklife Association.
