Nathan Maddox is an assistant clinical professor of social work. He earned his undergraduate degree from Samford University and his MSW from Savannah State University. He is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). He has experience working in a range of healthcare and mental healthcare settings, providing inpatient psychiatric care, individual and group psychotherapy, crisis intervention, case management, and education and outreach programming regarding social determinants of psychological health. He has special interest in the role of economic and cultural factors in determining human behavior and self-perception and the significance of creative expression for psychological well-being. He is licensed in Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Therapy (AEDP).
Prior to joining the faculty, Maddox served as a field instructor for master’s level students at Auburn University. He teaches practice-oriented courses and assists with the MSW field education program.
