In honor of International Women’s Day, or IWD, the Auburn University International Cultural Center, or ICC, in the Office of International Programs partnered with the College of Liberal Arts’ Women’s and Gender Studies program to host a seminar celebrating the social, cultural, economic and political achievements of women.

"On behalf of our team in the International Cultural Center in the Office of International Programs, thank you so much for your participation in the 2023 International Women’s Day edition of the Window to Your World Lunch Seminar Series. I was truly impressed by the range of perspectives and the thought-provoking discussions. The real-world scenarios and the research touched upon made for robust conversation and audience questions. Dr. Janice Clifford was a great partner who did all she could to make the difference for a memorable event. Also, Ms. Arlene Godwin was as good a moderator as they come! Thank you all so much," said Adeola Fayemi, director of intercultural education and inclusion, International Cultural Center.

The Window to Your World lunch seminar is a regular ICC program that advances international and cultural learning in an informal gathering while featuring an array of experts and thought leaders that discuss salient interdisciplinary and “just in time” topics. The seminar titled “Everyone’s Responsibility: Embracing Women’s Equity for a More Inclusive World” included a variety of presentations and topics including research work, study abroad testimonials, and career development topics for domestic and international students.

Featured panelists were Auburn faculty, community members and a student representative and they were recognized for their avid interest in raising awareness of the challenges women face and determining ways of achieving gender equality from an international standpoint.
