Sofia Foradori selected as student marshal for Auburn University's spring 2026 commencement
Sofia Foradori, a graduating senior from Auburn, Alabama, has been named the spring 2026 graduation marshal for the College of Liberal Arts at Auburn University.
Foradori will graduate with degrees in history and anthropology. Carrying those passions beyond the classroom, she served as president of the History Club, an associate editor for the undergraduate law review and a student ambassador for Auburn’s Department of History.
“I have always been fascinated by how cultures and ideas evolve over time. Studying history allowed me to explore the events and personal narratives that shaped societies, while anthropology gave me tools to understand human behavior and cultural diversity on a deeper level,” Foradori said. “Together, these fields of study helped me connect the past with the present and appreciate the complexity of the world around us.”
With a wide range of interests, Foradori became involved in numerous activities. She served as a student liaison for the League of Women Voters of East Alabama and as an advisory board member for the Lee County Historical Society.
Outside of her passion for professional growth, Foradori gave back to the community through her position as a shift lead for Campus Kitchen. She also hosted a radio show on WEGL 91.1, It’s All History To Me, and was a resident assistant for Auburn University Housing.
“Auburn encouraged me to engage deeply with public history and civic outreach whether through my radio show, club involvement, or volunteer service,” Foradori said. “These experiences helped me understand the impact of historical storytelling and community engagement, which gave me confidence in my career path and a strong sense of purpose moving forward.”
After graduation, Foradori will serve as a podcast and after-hours programming intern in the adult education department at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C. She later hopes to work in history and civics education.
“Sofia’s passion for history, culture and service reflects the very best of the College of Liberal Arts,” said Dean Jason Hicks. “Her curiosity and commitment to community engagement make her an outstanding choice to lead her class, and we’re excited to see what she does next.”
The university will host the College of Liberal Arts commencement ceremony at 6 p.m. CT on Friday, May 1. The commencement address will be delivered by Auburn alumnus Michielle Sego-Johnson ‘88.
Additional information, including updates regarding inclement weather, is available on the commencement website and information will be posted on the Facebook and Instagram accounts.
All ceremonies will be livestreamed, with recordings available on the commencement website following the weekend festivities. Graduates and their families are encouraged to check the website regularly for updated information.
