Description: The Families: Leveraging Opportunities for Wellbeing and Resilience (FLOWER) Lab is a clinical psychology research lab directed by Dr. Jennifer Somers in the Department of Psychological Sciences at Auburn University. We are interested in how caregivers and children influence and are influenced by each other, and how these reciprocal influences contribute to wellbeing for all members of the family. Current research projects focus on biobehavioral processes that unfold during parent-child dyadic interactions and influence risk for depression and anxiety, as well as the early origins of parenting.
